NORTHSIDE METHODIST SUPPORT GROUPS

Northside Methodist has many groups designed to help in a variety of ways.

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."   - John 14:13-14

Prayer Support

Prayer has always been a big part of who Northside is, because prayer is of vital importance to every Christian. Prayer is the way we connect with God, but we must do more than just connect. We must praise, petition, and intercede in the midst of our prayer. At this time in our history, the world needs God and prayer more than ever before. Let us not grow weary of going to the Lord with our praise and requests.  Northside makes a commitment to Prayer.  "We will become a center for prayer that brings power to the Body of Christ. We will bring together denominations and races and regions around the power of God found in prayer. Our efforts will begin with the city of Jackson, TN." This is part of the long range plans for Northside UMC. A group of members of our congregation met for several weeks and explored through prayer, discussion and input from the congregation, the direction God is calling our church to go in the near future. Here is some of what they discerned.

Caregivers Support Group

If you are caring for a parent or spouse and you could use some support and coping skills, join us on the 2nd Sunday of each month. We meet in room 207 at 3:00 pm. Come share ideas, gain support form others in your position, and receive a blessing. WE have guest professionals to talk with the group to help answer questions and give support. Become a part of this group as we journey together through this trying time.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry:  Eyes and Ears of Jesus
We are the eyes and ears of Jesus on earth today.  It is our duty and privilege as Christians to serve Christ through watching and listening to people around us, recognizing when they have needs for care.  If you find someone with a need, listen and care.  If you realize the need is something greater than you can provide, tell the person about our Stephen Ministry and put him or her in touch with one of our pastors.  Jesus trusts us to serve as his eyes and ears on earth and to minister to those who are grieving, lonely, or in pain.
Call Daphne Moses (668-0617) for more information about our Stephen Ministry.
